Students’ own event on Turku Day
Turku Day Appro
What? – Turku Day Appro.
Where? – Appro checkpoints are located around Turku, pass distribution and return point is at the Old Great Square.
When? – 21.9. 10–18.
Why? – Get to know your new (or old) hometown through checkpoints and collect awesome overall patches.
For who? – For all university students in Turku.
How much? – The event is free of charge!

Appro degrees
During Turku Day Appro, you visit checkpoints, complete tasks and collect stamps on your appro map. By collecting at least six stamps, you complete a fun degree and earn the Turku Day Appro overall patch and are a step closer to the “Turku All-Star” patch!
Appro degrees:
- 6 stamps – Turun päivän appro
- 9 stamps – Junantuoma turkulaine
- 12 stamps – Paljasjalkane turkulaine
You receive the Föri-seilori-patch when you complete the appro with at least 6 stamps and show a previously earned Junantuoma turkulaine- or Paljasjalkane turkulaine-patch during map return.
You earn the Turku All-Star-patch when you complete the appro with at least 6 stamps and show the Föri-Seilori-patch sewn onto your overalls!
Only one degree can be completed during the appro. Don’t forget to sew on your previous years’ patches onto your overalls!
Start and return of appro maps
The starting point for Turku Day Appro is the info point at the Old Great Square, where map distribution starts at 10 AM. Maps are available in limited numbers. The appro can be completed between 10 AM – 6 PM. Checkpoint opening hours vary, so please check the appro map!
Maps with stamps can be exchanged for overall patches untill 18:30 PM at the info point. No advance registration is required for the appro.
